IDF Chief of Staff Visits Wounded Soldiers at Sheba Medical Center

The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, visited the Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer on Tuesday to meet with soldiers wounded in the ongoing conflict. During his visit, Halevi toured various hospital wards and spoke with the injured soldiers, including commanders and fighters, as well as their families.

Halevi discussed their recovery and rehabilitation processes, inquiring about the circumstances of their injuries and their journeys since being wounded. He expressed deep appreciation for their spirit, determination, and contributions to the nation's security. The Chief of Staff also commended the medical teams for their dedicated care and thanked the personnel of the casualties and wounded department for their significant work.

Addressing the wounded, Halevi stated, "I came to see you before the new year, and I am moved by what I have seen here. There are fighters here who stood at the front, led, and risked their lives in combat against the enemy, this is battlefield heroism." He acknowledged their ongoing struggle for rehabilitation, adding, "And now you are in a campaign requiring further heroism for recovery from injury. I and the entire IDF appreciate your sacrifice and contribution."

Halevi pledged the IDF's continued support throughout their rehabilitation journey, emphasizing, "It is our duty to stand by you and accompany you on the path to recovery. We walk with you every step of the way." He concluded by wishing the soldiers a better new year, saying, "I salute you. May it be a better year: a year of security and hope, a year of unity and victory. A year in which you will continue to stand firm and be a source of pride for the entire nation."
