Right-Wing Activist Kinneret Barashi Sets Conditions for Election Support

Right-wing activist Kinneret Barashi declared on Wednesday that she will only vote for a candidate who explicitly commits to reforming the Israeli judicial system. Speaking on 'Galei Yisrael' radio, Barashi stated, "I don't need hidden statements, but an explicit statement, and I demand it from Prime Minister Netanyahu. I will only vote for someone who declares he is going to fix the judicial system." She emphasized the need to understand the direction the country is heading, asserting that "the judicial system controls everything; if this is not stopped, the elections will change nothing."

Barashi's statement is notable given recent reports suggesting she might be placed on the Likud party's electoral slate. Her current stance, however, sets conditions for Netanyahu rather than offering unconditional support.

Her remarks echo claims made by Knesset member Tally Gottlieb, who recently moved from Likud to Otzma Yehudit, led by Minister Ben Gvir. Gottlieb alleged that Netanyahu did not want her in his party because he is unwilling to confront the judicial system or advance judicial reforms.

Conversely, Prime Minister Netanyahu recently announced two candidates for reserved spots on the Likud list, Yaakov Bardugo and attorney David Peter, both known for their advocacy for judicial reform.
