Israeli Forces Arrest Six in Tulkarm, Demolish Stable Near Jerusalem
Israeli military forces arrested six Palestinians from the Tulkarm governorate early Wednesday morning after raiding their homes, searching them, and damaging property, according to local sources. The detainees were identified as brothers Hemam and Khitab Ahmed Matrouk from Tulkarm city, Salim Abu Khousa from Dhanaaba suburb east of the city, Hamza Wahdan and Amr Ghalib Abu Zeitoun from the town of Deir al-Ghusun north of the governorate, and Ismail Aufi from Anabta town, a resident of Tulkarm camp.
In northern Jerusalem, Israeli bulldozers began demolishing a stable in the Al-Ram area on Wednesday morning. The demolition was accompanied by intense tear gas shelling, which caused several citizens to suffer from suffocation, according to local sources.
This escalation in military activity coincided with Britain's announcement on Tuesday of sanctions against individuals and entities involved in settlement construction, and a ban on importing goods produced in settlements. This action was in protest against the advancement of a new settlement in the E1 area, which could disrupt geographical connectivity between the northern and southern West Bank.
Eleven Western countries, including Canada, France, Spain, Sweden, and Norway, joined the British initiative, announcing their intention to impose national restrictions or support European restrictions on trade with settlement products.
