Maccabi Tel Aviv Eyes Dynamo Kyiv Defender Oleksandr Syrota
Maccabi Tel Aviv is reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Oleksandr Syrota, a 26-year-old Ukrainian defender currently with Dynamo Kyiv. Syrota, who previously played for Maccabi Haifa, is not currently in Dynamo Kyiv's plans. The Israeli club is looking to strengthen its defensive line and is assessing whether Syrota could be a viable addition.
Syrota, who is Jewish, played 26 games for Maccabi Haifa during the 2024 summer season, scoring twice. He returned to Dynamo Kyiv at the start of the current season after loan spells in Turkey with Kasımpaşa and Göztepe. Despite returning to his parent club, he has yet to make an appearance this season.
Earlier in the summer, Hapoel Be'er Sheva also considered Syrota. The defender has represented Ukraine at various youth levels and has two caps for the senior national team. His potential signing comes as Maccabi Tel Aviv prepares for its derby match against Hapoel Tel Aviv next Monday.
