Jerusalem Mayor Slams Light Rail Protesters, Cites Millions in Damages
Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion has strongly criticized opponents of the light rail project along Bar Ilan Street, describing their actions as "madness" that caused hundreds of millions of shekels in damages. He stated that the Jerusalem Light Rail company will operate on Bar Ilan Street.
In a special interview with Yishai Cohen on Kikar HaShabbat, Lion rejected claims that Jerusalem is becoming increasingly Haredi, asserting that the city's status quo remains intact. He also expressed sorrow over the removal of MK Moshe Gafni from his position.
The mayor also spoke about his personal feelings, including his longing for his father, his excitement about the Selichot prayers at the Western Wall, and announced a solution to the seminar crisis.
