Senior Journalist Assesses Netanyahu Lost Over 10 Knesset Seats
Communications advisor and journalist Barak Sari commented on a report in the "Israel Hayom" newspaper, which claimed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in closed conversations that he prefers Avigdor Lieberman over Itamar Ben-Gvir. Sari dismissed these claims, stating, "Don't believe him. He has lost more than ten seats from the liberal right and Likud members who despise his government's members. That's why he's talking nonsense to bring them back."
Sari's remarks were made in response to the "Israel Hayom" report, which suggested a preference for Lieberman over Ben-Gvir in Netanyahu's private discussions. The article also noted that Lieberman has repeatedly been asked in recent months if he would sit with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Lieberman has consistently differentiated between the Likud party and Netanyahu himself, stating he does not rule out sitting with the Likud party but is unwilling to sit with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
