Likud Candidate Itzik Bonzel Pledges Judicial Reform and Bereaved Family Support

Attorney Itzik Bonzel, father of fallen IDF soldier Amit Bonzel, has responded to his placement on the Likud party's Knesset list, stating he did not negotiate his position and accepts Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision with humility. Bonzel emphasized his primary goal is a Likud victory in the upcoming elections and the formation of a government led by Netanyahu, warning against a potential rise of the left.

Bonzel outlined his legislative priorities, focusing on significant changes to the justice system and support for bereaved families. He plans to push for a comprehensive amendment to the 1950 Law for Bereaved Families, which he believes has not been adequately updated. Additionally, he aims to enact substantial reforms within the judicial system, reduce its centers of power, restore the legal counsel to the government to its "natural size," and curb the power of the courts.

Following the death of his son Amit in Gaza, Bonzel has been actively involved with hundreds of bereaved families through the "Gevura Forum." He pledged to continue advocating for their rights and well-being. He also expressed his commitment to achieving "absolute victory" and establishing a national inquiry commission to investigate the events of October 7th.

Bonzel concluded by thanking Netanyahu and his family for their trust and support, stating his readiness to work diligently for the "great victory for the right and the people of Israel."
