Uri Maklev Bids Farewell to Knesset After Years of Public Service

Member of Knesset Uri Maklev has published a farewell letter to the public, reflecting on his years of public service and his tenure in the Knesset. This follows an announcement from Degel HaTorah regarding his departure, which was reportedly accompanied by harsh tones. In his letter, Maklev stated that he did his best to be attentive to the public's needs and to act with faith and integrity for the sake of "Israel's holy matters" and public systems. He emphasized a sense of mission that remained constant from his first day to his last.

Maklev highlighted the establishment of the "Haredi Authority" as one of his key achievements. This authority, which he initiated and founded, is now reportedly operating successfully in 57 local authorities. As the new year approaches, Maklev thanked the public for their cooperation and support throughout his service.

He expressed his desire and willingness to continue serving the public from any position, as opportunities arise. "Throughout the journey, you returned feedback, strength, and appreciation, in special and fruitful cooperation. I am grateful for that," Maklev wrote. "Every day I felt the mission anew, as if I had just started it today. The mission did not weigh on me on my last day any more than on my first. I have the desire and willingness to continue serving and doing everything in my power for the public, from anywhere, as much as is within my ability."
