Israeli Court Rejects Bid to Halt E1 Construction Tender
The Jerusalem District Court has rejected a request to suspend a tender for the construction of 1,234 housing units in the E1 area. The request was part of three consolidated petitions filed against the E1 construction plans. Petitioners sought an interim order to halt the tender and further advancement of the plans, arguing that the tender was published without prior notification, violating commitments made by the State Prosecutor's Office. They contended that proceeding with the plans during the petition review could create irreversible situations, hindering effective legal recourse. The court, however, declined to issue an immediate suspension, allowing the E1 plans and the housing unit tender to proceed for now.
