Yisrael Beytenu Lists Coalition Demands Ahead of Elections

With 50 days until the next elections, MK Oded Forer of the Yisrael Beytenu party has outlined the party's conditions for joining a future coalition government. Forer stated that the party has submitted its diverse list of candidates, emphasizing a blend of experience and commitment to implementing ideology.

Forer declared that a universal draft law, requiring all citizens to serve in the military, is a non-negotiable 'red line' for Yisrael Beytenu. He specifically rejected any exemptions for a significant portion of the population, citing a desire to prevent the loopholes used by parties like Shas to delay implementation.

Beyond the draft law, Forer also insisted on the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. He linked this demand to the events of October 7th, suggesting that the current government, which he referred to as the "government of the October 7th massacre," should be replaced. Forer expressed his personal preference for party leader Avigdor Lieberman to become prime minister due to his extensive experience, but stressed that personal appointments are secondary to the core demands.

Forer also accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of avoiding discussions on the October 7th massacre and the rising cost of living. He expressed confidence that Yisrael Beytenu would emerge as a strong party after the elections and stated that coalition negotiations would only commence after the results are known.
