New Motorized Sukkah Roof System Approved by Halachic Authority
A new technological solution called "Sukkahol" has been developed to simplify the construction of Sukkahs, particularly for large venues like hotels and event spaces. The system, created by engineer and entrepreneur Rabbi Yaakov Anshen after five years of development, features a custom-engineered, uniform Sukkah roof made of interlocking wooden squares without nails or glue, adhering to Jewish law.
The core innovation lies in its operational and storage capabilities. The entire roof is connected to an electric motor that extends the Sukkah covering and folds it compactly after the holiday. This allows for convenient storage, protected by a special cover, on an adjacent exterior wall or roof.
The project was guided by the Scientific Technological Institute for Halakha, led by Rabbi Avraham Moshe Halperin, to ensure the integration of mechanical mechanisms with Jewish legal requirements for Sukkahs. The institute supervised the selection of raw materials, connection methods, and the placement of the roof structure to meet all halachic standards.
