Blogger 'King Sharshar' Launches Party, Vows to Tackle Social Ills
Eitan Shvily, an Israeli blogger known for his extravagant attire including a gold crown, has registered a new political party called 'Sharshar for Love and Unity of the People' to contest upcoming elections. Shvily, who resides in Givat Shmuel, has gained notoriety in Israeli social media for his opulent style, featuring gold and diamond jewelry and a crown reportedly valued at 245,000 shekels. He claims his flamboyant persona masks a serious agenda aimed at addressing pressing social issues within Israeli society.
The party has outlined seven key objectives: bridging societal divides and reducing internal conflicts, supporting veterans and individuals with PTSD including soldiers and their families, expanding the list of state-funded medications, combating corruption and defending judicial independence, opposing political and religious radicalism while ensuring equal rights, preserving Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, and fighting social inequality to provide equal opportunities for all children.
Shvily has announced he is not running alone but with a team, promising a concrete action plan rather than mere slogans. While the trend of social media personalities entering politics is growing, Shvily's case stands out. Political analysts are cautiously assessing the party's chances of crossing the electoral threshold but acknowledge that Shvily has already secured significant media and public attention. The Central Elections Committee is reportedly preparing measures to enhance the transparency of the upcoming elections.
