Israeli Retailer Warns of Fake Kenneth Cole Website Targeting Shoppers
The Mashbir retail chain issued an unusual public warning on Tuesday about a fraudulent website impersonating the official Kenneth Cole online store in Israel. The fake site uses the brand's name and identifying elements, potentially misleading consumers into making purchases or divulging personal and credit card information, thereby stealing their money.
Mashbir clarified that the fraudulent site has no affiliation with Kenneth Cole or the retail chain itself. They urged the public not to make purchases or enter any personal or payment details on the fake site. The company is actively working with relevant authorities to have the website removed.
Galit Peled, Deputy CEO of Kenneth Cole Israel, stated, "It is important for us to protect customers and allow them to purchase with confidence. We are working to remove the impersonating site and urge the public to be vigilant and make purchases only through the brand's official channels."
Mashbir also advised consumers to carefully check website addresses before buying and to avoid entering personal or credit card information on sites not recognized as official brand channels.
