Yair Golan Accuses Netanyahu of Criminal Negligence, Calls for Imprisonment
Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, following reports of a warning received before the October 7th Hamas attacks. Golan asserted that Netanyahu was aware of the intelligence and that the published investigation "shatters all the lies he told us." He stated, "The stories of 'I wasn't woken up' are over. He knew, he was warned."
Golan characterized Netanyahu as a "deliberately and criminally negligent" leader, claiming the prime minister's actions were not a misjudgment but a conscious dereliction of duty. He specifically addressed claims that Netanyahu received a warning from UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed and allegedly concealed it from security chiefs. "The investigation revealing that Netanyahu received an explicit warning from the Emirates' president and deliberately hid it from the heads of the army and Shin Bet shatters all the lies he told us," Golan declared.
He further intensified his criticism, recalling that security officials and hundreds of thousands of protesters, whom Netanyahu dismissed as "anarchists and Kaplanists," had repeatedly warned of the danger to Israel. Golan accused the prime minister of prioritizing his personal survival and aligning with draft dodgers and extremists.
Golan concluded by calling for Netanyahu's immediate replacement, stating he is "unfit and illegitimate." He asserted, "His place is in jail for his crimes against the State of Israel. We must replace him now!"
