Netanya Coach Rony Levy Furious at Halftime, Threatens Player Substitutions

Maccabi Netanya's coach, Rony Levy, expressed extreme dissatisfaction during halftime of his team's 1-1 draw against Hapoel Haifa, reportedly shouting at his players that he would have substituted seven of them if he could. The heated exchange occurred in the locker room during the break, with the team trailing at that point. Goalkeeper Samuel Silva also reportedly criticized the team's lethargic play and ball losses, stating, "We can't play like this."

The halftime talk appeared to galvanize the team, as Netanya showed improved performance in the second half, aided by the substitutions of Alon Azugi and Bassem Zraer. Midfielder Maor Levi, who had been experiencing leg pain and trained irregularly during the week, played the first half but requested to be substituted at halftime.

Following the match, right-back Alon Azugi spoke about his return to the field after a shoulder injury. "It was not an easy period," Azugi said. "I had a shoulder injury and I'm glad it's behind me. It's fun to return, I felt good and it showed in the game. I'm not at full fitness but I always push myself."

Azugi also commented on the team's performance, noting the improved second-half attitude and teamwork, and expressed his happiness at joining Netanya. He discussed the competition for his position with Karim Jaber, stating, "I know it won't be easy but I love competition. It's good for the team and personally raises the level. I believe in myself and in the end, whatever the coach decides, I will go with it. It's me or Karim for the good of the team."
