Hapoel Petah Tikva Reaches Agreement with Defender Itay Ben Shabat
Hapoel Petah Tikva is reportedly close to strengthening its defense with the signing of Itay Ben Shabat, a center-back from Maccabi Netanya. The deal, if finalized, would see Ben Shabat join the team known as the "Malabsim."
Ben Shabat, who joined Maccabi Netanya in the summer of 2023, is no longer in coach Roni Levy's plans for the current season and has seen limited playing time, despite having captained the team in some matches last year.
Ben Shabat had also received an offer from Ironi Tiberias, but he declined it. He is currently under contract with Maccabi Netanya until the end of the season. His potential departure could make way for veteran defender Oral Dgani, who has reportedly received an offer to join MS Ashdod and help them return to the top league from the second division.
