After a perfect return season to the Premier League, capped by a place in the top playoff, Hapoel Petah Tikva is already thinking about next season and beginning to build the squad. After already announcing the addition of several players, Sport5 has learned that the club from Emek HaMoshavot has identified Roi Shashon from Beitar Jerusalem as a target.
In light of Shachar Amsalem's departure to Hapoel Rishon Lezion, Omer Peretz wants a senior goalkeeper who will compete with Omer Katz for the first-choice spot. For now, it appears that Petah Tikva has chosen the young goalkeeper from the capital club. The Blues will enter talks with the Jerusalem side in order to understand whether Beitar agrees to a loan only or is willing to sell him for a certain fee.
After bringing in Avishai Cohen for the right flank and Yazan Nassar on the left, the club is continuing its trend of strengthening the back line and has now moved to the goalkeeper position, with the aim that he and Omer Katz will push each other.
Shashon was loaned this season to Hapoel Kfar Shalem, where he made 35 appearances, conceded 59 goals and kept a clean sheet six times. Before that, he was loaned to Bnei Yehuda, where he played 29 times, conceded 34 goals and kept eight clean sheets. For Beitar, he has five appearances in which he conceded four goals.
