Hapoel Petah Tikva Nears Signing Goalkeeper Roi Sasson from Beitar Jerusalem

Following a successful season that saw Hapoel Petah Tikva return to the Israeli Premier League and reach the upper playoff, the club is actively preparing for the upcoming season by strengthening its squad. After announcing several new signings, the team is now close to acquiring goalkeeper Roi Sasson from Beitar Jerusalem. This move comes after the departure of goalkeeper Shahar Amsalem to Hapoel Rishon LeZion, with the club seeking a senior goalkeeper to compete with current first-choice keeper Omer Katz.

Sasson, a young goalkeeper from the capital club, is expected to join Hapoel Petah Tikva on loan with a purchase option set at 200,000 euros. The transfer documents have been exchanged between the clubs, and only the official signing remains. This addition follows recent signings of Avishi Cohen for the right side and Yazan Nassar for the left, as the club continues to bolster its defensive line.

During the current season, Sasson was loaned to Hapoel Kfar Shalem, where he made 35 appearances, conceded 59 goals, and kept six clean sheets. Previously, he was loaned to Bnei Yehuda, playing 29 matches with 34 goals conceded and eight clean sheets. At Beitar Jerusalem, he appeared in five games, conceding four goals. The club aims for Sasson and Katz to push each other for the starting goalkeeper position in the upcoming season.
