Hapoel Petah Tikva Nears Signing Goalkeeper Roy Sasson on Loan from Beitar Jerusalem

Following a successful season that saw Hapoel Petah Tikva return to the Israeli Premier League and reach the upper playoff, the club is actively preparing for the upcoming season by strengthening its squad. After announcing several new signings, the team is close to acquiring goalkeeper Roy Sasson from Beitar Jerusalem on a loan deal with a purchase option of 200,000 euros. This move comes after the departure of goalkeeper Shahar Amsalem to Hapoel Rishon LeZion, as the club seeks a senior goalkeeper to compete with current first-choice keeper Omer Katz.

The loan agreement documents have been exchanged between the clubs, and only the official signing remains. Sasson, a young goalkeeper, spent the past season on loan at Hapoel Kfar Shalem, where he made 35 appearances, conceded 59 goals, and kept six clean sheets. Previously, he was loaned to Bnei Yehuda, playing 29 matches with 34 goals conceded and eight clean sheets. At Beitar Jerusalem, he played five games, conceding four goals.

Hapoel Petah Tikva has also recently signed Avishai Cohen for the right side and Yazan Nassar for the left, continuing their efforts to strengthen the defensive line. The addition of Sasson aims to create competition in the goalkeeper position alongside Omer Katz, enhancing the team's defensive stability ahead of the new season.
