Hapoel Petah Tikva Signs Goalkeeper Roy Sasson on Loan with Purchase Option

Hapoel Petah Tikva has officially signed goalkeeper Roy Sasson from Beitar Jerusalem on loan, including a purchase option of 200,000 euros. The move was confirmed on June 28, 2026, as the club prepares for the upcoming season following a successful return to the Israeli Premier League and qualification for the upper playoff. Sasson will compete with current goalkeeper Omer Katz for the starting position, addressing the departure of Shahar Amsalem to Hapoel Rishon LeZion and fulfilling coach Omer Peretz's desire for a senior goalkeeper.

Sasson, a young goalkeeper from the capital, joins a team that has recently strengthened its defense by signing Avishi Cohen and Yazan Nassar. Last season, Sasson was loaned to Hapoel Kfar Shalem, where he made 35 appearances, conceded 59 goals, and kept six clean sheets. Previously, he was loaned to Bnei Yehuda, playing 29 games with 34 goals conceded and eight clean sheets. At Beitar Jerusalem, he played five matches, conceding four goals.
