Hapoel Petah Tikva announced on Monday that it has signed Stav Israeli, the 28-year-old captain of Bnei Yehuda, after activating the free release clause in his contract for the Israeli Premier League. Israeli agreed to a one-season deal with an option for a second year.
Israeli made 100 appearances for Bnei Yehuda, where he wore the orange shirt before leaving the club. He previously played for SC Ness Ziona, which he represented in the Premier League.
After the signing, Israeli said: "It is a great honor for me to sign with a huge club like Hapoel Petah Tikva." He added, "I want to thank Omer, Nir and the professional staff for their trust, and I am already looking forward to the first match in front of our fans. I hope we have a successful and achievement-filled year."
