Beitar Jerusalem Star Omer Atzili Kicks Bottle in Frustration After Substitution
Beitar Jerusalem's star player Omer Atzili displayed visible anger during his team's match against Bnei Sakhnin on Thursday, September 7th. The frustration peaked when Atzili was substituted in the 81st minute. As he left the field, Atzili gestured angrily towards the fourth official, Aviad Shiloh. Moments later, after shaking hands with teammate Almog Cohen, Atzili kicked a water bottle on the team's bench.
Atzili's frustration may have stemmed from a significant VAR decision earlier in the game. In the 75th minute, referee Oral Greenfeld initially awarded a penalty kick. However, after reviewing the play via VAR, the decision was overturned, and Atzili received a yellow card instead. Beitar Jerusalem had taken a 1-0 lead in the 64th minute through a goal by Yugen Ense.
