Israeli Midfielder Omri Gandelman Rejects MLS Offer to Stay at Spezia
Israeli national team midfielder Omri Gandelman has turned down a significant offer from a Major League Soccer (MLS) club, opting instead to remain with his Italian team, Spezia. Gandelman, who joined Spezia last summer for €3 million, is determined to fight for a regular place in the starting lineup.
Despite playing only one minute in the first two league matches of the current season, Gandelman remains confident in his abilities and is unwilling to abandon his position in one of Europe's top five leagues. He previously played for Gent in Belgium, where he made 107 appearances, scored 33 goals, and provided 14 assists.
Last season in Italy, Gandelman featured in 19 games for Spezia, scoring two goals and adding one assist. He developed his youth career at Maccabi Netanya before moving to Europe in the summer of 2023.
