Ran Danker Wins Prestigious Israeli Theater Award

Israeli actor Ran Danker was honored with a prestigious award at the 2026 Actors and Creators Awards ceremony held at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv on Monday. The event recognized prominent artists for their contributions during the past theater season.

Danker received the award for his role in the production "Cabaret," a play set in a Berlin nightclub in the early 1930s against the backdrop of rising Nazism. Upon receiving the award, Danker expressed his deep connection to the role, stating, "It's hard to summarize a role, I think it has only just begun and I feel I have only started exploring it. This is simply a gift for life, and you probably only get something this big once in a lifetime."

Several other actors were also recognized for their work in "Cabaret," including Hani Furstenberg, Lihi Tolentino, and Laura Rivlin. The awards also celebrated outstanding performances in other productions. Keren Mor, Assaf Fried, and Anastasia Fein won for their roles in "A Streetcar Named Desire," while Amos Tamam, Nadav Neeman, and Roy Miller were honored for their participation in "Singer." Eran Mor, Ola Shor Sellaqter, and Tom Hodorov received awards for their performances in "Winter Funeral," and Irit Kaplan was recognized for her role in "Cleaning the Head." Amit Shoshani was named the Promising Actor of the Year.

Awards were also presented to creators behind the scenes. Bat-Chen Sabag won for Best Original Play for "The Retreat," with Keren Hovev and Maayan Even also recognized for their play "The Illusion." Irad Rubinshtein won for Best Director for "The Retreat," and Shir Goldberg was honored for directing "A Streetcar Named Desire."
