Ex-Shin Bet Chief Yoram Cohen Joins Gadi Eisenkot's 'Yashar!' Party List
The "Yashar!" party, led by Gadi Eisenkot, submitted its list of candidates for the 26th Knesset to the Central Elections Committee on Monday. Former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen is positioned second on the list, immediately following party leader Gadi Eisenkot.
The party also submitted a request to run under the electoral letters "Derech" (Way), explaining that this choice symbolizes the path they aim to offer in contrast to "polarization, irresponsibility, and loss of direction," emphasizing messages of statehood, responsibility, service, Zionism, and unity.
Other prominent figures in the top ten include Orit Farkash-Hacohen in third place, Adi Altshuler in fourth, and Matan Kahana in fifth. The list also features former government officials like Shaul Meridor, previously head of the budget division at the Ministry of Finance, and former MK Chili Tropper.
Eisenkot stated that the list comprises individuals with experience in security, economy, education, and social affairs, combining proven expertise with promising new talent. He also highlighted the party's commitment to gender equality, noting that the list reflects an equal balance between men and women among the first 40 candidates. Eisenkot expressed the party's ambition to win the upcoming elections, replace the current government, and form a broad, Zionist, and state-oriented government focused on restoring security, fostering economic growth, and uniting the Israeli people.
