Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon After Drone Attack
The Israeli military (IDF) conducted airstrikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, following an attack by the organization using two explosive drones targeting Israeli forces. No soldiers were harmed in the drone incident.
In response, the IDF targeted several of Hezbollah's terror infrastructure sites in the region, including a weapons storage facility. Additionally, Israeli aircraft attacked and eliminated a cell of militants identified by the IDF as transferring weapons in the village of Roumanieh. The IDF stated that precise munitions and observation measures were employed to prevent civilian casualties during the strikes, though an investigation is underway into a claim of civilian injuries resulting from the attacks.
These actions follow a separate IDF strike in the Nabatieh area the previous day, which resulted in the elimination of several militants after another drone launch. The IDF reiterated its commitment to preventing harm to its forces or Israeli civilians and vowed to continue acting decisively to neutralize threats while adhering to the principles of the agreement, presumably referring to the ceasefire agreement that ended the 2006 Lebanon War.
