Ex-Military Advocate General Loses Millions Over Dismissal Terms

The Israeli military has confirmed that former Military Advocate General, Major General Ifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, will lose over 1.5 million shekels due to revised dismissal terms. The IDF stated that the decision to remove her from her post and revoke benefits typically granted upon retirement is unprecedented. The military command cited "the extreme seriousness with which her actions were perceived" as the reason for the harsher terms.

Further sanctions against Tomer-Yerushalmi are possible, depending on the outcome of ongoing legal proceedings, potentially including a demotion in rank. However, the final decision regarding her severance pay and retirement conditions remains pending.

This is due to a request from the Ministry of Finance's accountant general, who is demanding that the IDF not pay her the full severance amounts initially allocated. The IDF's spokesperson stated that the matter is under legal review and that "these issues are regulated by relevant laws and orders in accordance with established authorities in this field."
