Defense Minister Orders Immediate Action Against Dismissed Military Prosecutor Amid Controversy

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Kitz issued a directive on Thursday to IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to exhaust all military procedures against the recently dismissed Chief Military Prosecutor, Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, and to immediately revoke all her rights. Kitz emphasized the need for swift measures, citing her alleged serious criminal offenses and accusations of fabricating false claims against IDF soldiers to protect Palestinian militants.

Radio host Ayala Hasson addressed the issue on Galei Israel, revealing that despite Tomer-Yerushalmi's dismissal, she retains 90% of her salary, including her retirement benefits and pension as a general, which Hasson described as a disgrace. She criticized the military system for protecting Tomer-Yerushalmi and questioned why she continues to receive substantial payments funded by taxpayers, especially when reservists report receiving no such support.

Hasson further condemned the handling of the case, stating that Tomer-Yerushalmi leaked not only videos but also false information during an investigation, which was later disproven, causing significant damage to Israel's security. She accused the Attorney General of neglecting the matter and the Supreme Court of ignoring the falsehoods presented.

In a striking revelation, Hasson disclosed she contacted the military defense to inquire about the private high-profile lawyers representing Tomer-Yerushalmi and who is financing their defense. She named attorneys Dori Klagsbald and Jacques Chen and noted the military defense's refusal to disclose the cost or the number of reserve duty days spent on her legal defense.
