Ex-Military Advocate General Loses Over $400,000 in Benefits

The former Military Advocate General, Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi, will be denied retirement benefits and other perks totaling over 1.5 million shekels (approximately $400,000 USD), a decision the IDF described as unprecedented. The IDF stated the punitive measure was taken due to the "great severity" of her actions, with a senior official indicating that further sanctions, potentially including a demotion, could be considered after the conclusion of legal proceedings.

The decision to strip Yerushalmi of her retirement conditions and other benefits was made by the IDF, which emphasized its unique nature. The military stressed that the sanctions already imposed are not necessarily final, and the Chief of Staff has indicated that additional measures may be considered based on the legal process's developments.

Meanwhile, the issue of Yerushalmi's retirement conditions and payments remains unresolved. The Accountant General at the Ministry of Finance has intervened, seeking to prevent the full transfer of funds allocated to her by the IDF. The IDF responded that the matter is under legal review, stating that these issues are derived from relevant laws and regulations, in accordance with the authorities governing such matters.
