Otzma Yehudit Party Reserves Spot for Haredi Representative

In a significant political move ahead of the upcoming elections, Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir has secured a place on the Otzma Yehudit party list for Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) community activist Yossi Goldberg. Goldberg will be placed in the ninth position on the list, marking the first time the party has included a Haredi representative with the explicit aim of translating growing support within the Haredi public into votes.

Goldberg, 39, married with four children, has served as an advisor to ministers and Knesset members, acting as a liaison between Haredi institutions, community representatives, and Otzma Yehudit ministers and various authorities. This strategic decision by Ben-Gvir signals a clear attempt to leverage his popularity among segments of the Haredi population and establish a direct presence within the sector, potentially competing with established Haredi parties.

Ben-Gvir stated that Goldberg is a "dynamic doer with a big heart" who understands the needs of the Haredi public and has a proven track record of helping people and achieving results. "I am happy he is joining our team and am confident he will be a loyal and strong representative for the Haredi public in the next Knesset," Ben-Gvir added.
