Local Council Head Withdraws Candidacy for Second Seat on Front List

Samir Abu Zeid, head of the local council in Eilabun, announced on Monday his withdrawal from the race for the second seat on the Front's list. Abu Zeid stated that his initial candidacy was driven by a sense of responsibility and a desire to help the Front overcome a difficult phase and maintain its unity and strength, not personal ambition.

He explained that he had agreed to run after another candidate, Jaafar Farah, had initially resigned from the candidacy on September 4th. Abu Zeid's decision to run was based on the understanding that Farah would not be a candidate. However, following Farah's subsequent decision to continue his candidacy, Abu Zeid felt the original reason for his own nomination was no longer valid.

Abu Zeid also cited his commitments to his local community in Eilabun as a reason for his withdrawal, expressing concern that his continued candidacy might negatively impact his work there. He wished Farah and the Front success.

Abu Zeid concluded by affirming his continued support for the Front, its political project, unity, and joint work, and pledged to continue serving his community and colleagues from whatever position he holds.
