Poll Showing Far-Right Parties Surpassing Threshold Sparks Skepticism

A recent Channel 11 poll indicating that parties led by Bezalel Smotrich, Ofir Winter, and Ze'ev Elkin could surpass the electoral threshold has drawn sharp criticism and disbelief from various political figures and commentators. Businessman and protest figure Ilan Shiloah expressed strong doubt, stating, "There is no scenario where these four parties will pass. One is definitely not passing, two are highly unlikely to pass." He added that if the "correction camp" works together, they can win, but if parties continue their attempts to draw votes from centrist and right-wing parties, it will be difficult.

Shiloah specifically criticized the list associated with Elkin, alleging it contains religious voters who might otherwise support the Religious Zionism party, and individuals who support the judicial overhaul, posing a danger to the joint struggle. He also noted that the announcement of Ze'ev Elkin and Yifat Shasha-Biton's party occurred shortly before the poll's release, raising questions about the reliability of the responses.

Many on both the left and right of the political spectrum have deemed the poll's outcome, which suggested Smotrich, Winter, and Ze'ev Elkin's parties could pass the threshold, as illogical. Professor Eyal Zisser also commented on the surprising scenario presented by the poll.
