Gadi Eisenkot's New Party Adds Prominent Figures to Knesset List
The "Yashar!" party, led by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, has announced ten new candidates who will fill the final spots on its list for the 26th Knesset elections. Among the notable additions are Adina Bar-Shalom, daughter of the late Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, who will be placed at number 113, and former Likud minister Dan Meridor, slated for position 110. The list also includes Ohad Ben Ami, a former hostage, at number 120, and Sapir Zohav Hamami, widow of Colonel Assaf Hamami, at number 115.
Other candidates joining the list are Gideon Sheffer (reserve Major General) at 119, Shira and Eli Albag (parents of former hostage Liri Albag) at 118/117, Yoav Levi (father of former hostage Naama Levi) at 116, Hertzel Gerstein (widow of Brigadier General Erez Gerstein) at 114, and reserve Colonel Gideon Abbas at 112. Professor Manuel Trachtenberg, a leading economist, is also included at position 111.
Eisenkot stated that the chosen candidates represent the story of Israel and the need for societal unity. He highlighted that they have dedicated their lives to national security, public service, education, economics, and bridging societal divides, all united by a spirit of service, responsibility, love for Israel, and a deep commitment to improving the country.
