Israeli Strikes Kill 11 in Southern Lebanon, Including Medics

Eleven people were killed and seven others injured in Israeli airstrikes on the town of Kafr Kila in southern Lebanon early Monday, amid ongoing escalation in the region. Israeli warplanes conducted two raids on Kafr Kila, with one strike destroying a three-story residential building, killing nine people and injuring five, according to Lebanon's National News Agency. Rescue teams recovered victims, including two infants, from the rubble. One of the deceased was identified as a medic from the Islamic Risala Scouts.

In a separate incident within the town, an Israeli drone targeted a civilian car carrying three medics from the Islamic Risala Scouts, killing one and critically injuring two others. These attacks brought the total casualties in Kafr Kila to 11 dead and seven wounded.

Israeli shelling also extended to other areas, including Arabsalim and Nabatieh al-Fawqa, with artillery fire hitting the outskirts of Nabatieh, Kafr Kila, Jabal al-Rafi, and Tula al-Dabsha. Drones were observed flying extensively over the area.

In Deir ez-Zahrani, an Israeli airstrike hit a building shortly after the Israeli military issued an evacuation warning to residents, citing activity linked to Hezbollah. Lebanese sources reported at least ten people were injured in this strike, while ten others were rescued from another targeted building in Kafr Kila earlier.

The Israeli military stated its operations were a response to Hezbollah launching two drones toward its soldiers in what it described as its "security zone" in southern Lebanon, calling it a violation of the ceasefire agreement. This escalation occurs amid repeated Israeli violations of the agreement and growing concerns about the widening conflict and deteriorating security and humanitarian conditions in the border areas.
