Hasidim and supporters of the Tuldos Moshe court in Beit Shemesh hosted their rebbe, the Tuldos Moshe Rebbe, for an uplifting reinforcement gathering in the city. The event drew a large crowd from the community, who came to hear him speak about the spiritual challenges of the present period.
The rebbe spoke at length about serving God with simplicity and devotion, especially in the current era, which he described as the time of "ikveta deMeshicha," the footsteps of the Messiah. He warned against distractions that weaken religious feeling, including reading newspapers and listening to phone lines, and stressed that every individual must serve at a high level.
He also emphasized obligations between people, saying Jews should help one another without calculating whether someone "deserves" assistance, but rather act מתוך simple love because the Torah commands, "ואהבת לרעך כמוך" (Love your neighbor as yourself). Among the other speakers were the rebbe's son, Rabbi Shaul Yechizkel Gross, who praised the chance for the community's young men to gather under one roof with guidance from his father, and Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Papper, the community's halachic authority, who addressed current issues.
The gathering lasted for hours and, according to the report, left attendees with practical guidance for strengthening their worship and preparing for the coming High Holy Days. The event ended with a lively dance to "Lev Tahor Bara Li" for many minutes, followed by a reception where participants received the rebbe's blessing.
