TV Host Lucy Aharish Slams Israeli Politics as 'Shallow and Filthy'

Lucy Aharish, host of Channel 13's "The Daily Conversation," delivered a scathing critique of the Israeli political landscape during a recent live broadcast. Comparing the process of parties finalizing their electoral lists to a "shallow and filthy reality show," Aharish asserted that politicians "will do anything to get another vote or two."

She highlighted the upcoming elections, noting that figures like Ayelet Shaked, Yonatan Shimshoni, Yair Golan, Yaron Zehlikah, Yoaz Hendel, Gilad Erdan, Aliza Bloch, and Oren Smadja might be entering the "Big Brother house of Israeli politics." Aharish also mentioned Benny Gantz and Yuli Edelstein as "players looking for a new home."

Aharish referenced a recent Channel 13 poll that showed an even split between the blocs, suggesting that even Mansour Abbas's support would not push the opposition past 60 seats. She emphasized that in this election, "every mandate can be decisive" and any party failing to pass the electoral threshold risks its entire bloc.

Further detailing political shifts, Aharish noted Hili Tropper joining Benny Gantz's party alongside former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, and Adi Altshuler, founder of "Wings of Krembo," also joining Eisenkot. She questioned Yoaz Hendel's future, speculating whether he would retire or join a new party, and suggested Sharen Haskel or Ayelet Shaked might welcome him.

The host also pointed out departures, including Tzvika Fogel leaving Otzma Yehudit and Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev reportedly ending their time with Degel HaTorah. Aharish questioned if this signaled a shift for Degel HaTorah, potentially leading to negotiations for a government not headed by Benjamin Netanyahu. She concluded that despite numerous names and few ideological promises, "everyone will likely come down from the trees" after the elections to try and form a government.
