Israel Thwarts Terror Attacks Against Jews Abroad, Hamas Expands Global Efforts

Israeli security forces, in cooperation with international partners, have recently foiled a series of terror attack attempts targeting Israelis and Jews in various countries, including Western nations, shortly before they were to be carried out. These efforts come as Israel approaches its holiday season, increasing security vigilance both domestically and abroad.

According to security officials, dozens of significant terror events planned against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide were thwarted over the past year. While Iran and Hezbollah have historically been the primary actors behind such threats, the Palestinian organization Hamas has recently emerged as a significant player in international terrorism.

Security agencies have observed a notable increase in Hamas's efforts to initiate and execute attacks globally. This expansion is attributed to Hamas's difficulties in carrying out attacks from the West Bank and the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, leading the organization to seek broader operational opportunities against Israeli and Jewish targets abroad.

Despite Hamas's growing involvement, Israel maintains that Iran remains the most significant source of international terror threats. Tehran directs these efforts through guidance, funding, arming, and direct operational involvement of cells targeting Israeli and Jewish interests. A senior official from Israel's National Security Council (NSC) stated that Iran has significantly expanded its infrastructure dedicated to promoting attacks abroad, viewing it as a strategic imperative.

In light of these heightened threats, the NSC has issued a severe travel advisory, urging Israeli citizens traveling abroad to exercise extreme caution, adhere to safety guidelines, and maintain a high level of vigilance.
