Maccabi Haifa Expects Fullback Cornud to Return in Two Months

Maccabi Haifa is optimistic about the recovery of left-back Pierre Cornud from his injury, with the club estimating his return to team training in approximately two months. The team has also expressed satisfaction with the acclimatization of new Serbian-American striker Andrija Novakovich. Novakovich's debut was delayed due to illness and the need to free up a foreign player slot for him. He has since scored his first goal against Hapoel Petah Tikva and earned a penalty against Hapoel Ramat Gan.

Club officials described Novakovich as "exactly the profile we were looking for," emphasizing the need for a striker with a strong presence. While acknowledging he is not yet at peak match fitness and can still improve, they see him as fulfilling the role previously held by Frantzdy Pierrot. Maccabi Haifa also clarified that despite recent speculation and Yarin Levi not playing in the last match, there are no plans to release the homegrown midfielder, who is highly valued and expected to receive significant playing time this season.
