Israel Surveys Gazans on Winter Needs, Plans Tent Delivery

Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) conducted an online public opinion poll among Gaza Strip residents over the weekend to determine their needs for the upcoming winter. The survey, part of a COGAT program to improve hygiene and sanitation conditions in the Strip, particularly for its large displaced population, found that over 80% of participants identified a need for new tents.

Following the survey results, a COGAT representative announced that the request would be fulfilled and the delivery of tents approved. The tents are expected to be transferred to Gaza soon, in coordination with the United Nations and international organizations. Additional equipment aimed at helping residents cope with winter weather and strengthening hygiene and sanitation infrastructure will also be approved alongside the tents.

The COGAT representative stated that Israel is committed to improving living and housing conditions in the Gaza Strip. However, she also blamed Hamas for hindering progress and development in the Strip due to its refusal to disarm.
