Israel Supplies Gaza Over 70,000 Cubic Meters of Water Daily
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) has directly addressed the residents of the Gaza Strip, stating that while Hamas operatives are preoccupied with their own struggles, Israel is attentive to the needs of the Gazan population. COGAT detailed measures implemented in the areas of water, sewage, hygiene, and waste removal, asserting these steps were taken partly in response to requests from residents.
"While Hamas thugs are busy with their pathetic survival struggles and completely ignore your daily needs, we are listening to you and paying attention to your needs," COGAT stated in a message posted on its official Facebook page. According to data released by COGAT, over 70,000 cubic meters of water are supplied daily through four water lines, two desalination facilities, 170 wells, and 250 mobile water tankers.
In addition to water provisions, hundreds of toilets have been installed in shelters, and the arrival of water tankers and waste removal has been coordinated in various areas based on resident requests. COGAT also reported the entry of equipment to improve sewage and hygiene systems, including water pipes, chlorine tablets, waste collection trucks, and water tankers. Additional sites for waste disposal have been approved.
The announcement further noted that international bodies are participating in efforts to bolster public health and hygiene in Gaza. Notably, the United Arab Emirates is promoting projects in the Strip, including a campaign to combat the spread of rats, rodents, and pests.
