Man Attacks Neighbors with Knife and Pepper Spray Over Loud Music

A resident of Ashdod was arrested last Friday on suspicion of breaking into his neighbors' apartment armed with a large kitchen knife and pepper spray, attacking those inside, and threatening their lives. The alleged assault stemmed from a dispute over noise.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect became enraged by loud music, including songs by the singer Eyal Golan, emanating from the apartment's balcony. Video footage from the incident captures the suspect shouting "Who is playing Eyal Golan?" at the residents before spraying them with pepper spray. During the confrontation, one of the residents sustained a cut to his hand from the knife the suspect was wielding.

Police officers from the Ashdod station, who were dispatched to the scene, apprehended the suspect, disarmed him of the knife, and took him in for questioning. The Ashkelon Magistrate's Court extended his detention until September 8.
