Israel's Rosh Hashanah Employee Bonuses Range Widely

MakoCenter
Translated & summarized from Mako by baba
The story · English

A new survey reveals significant disparities in Rosh Hashanah holiday bonuses for employees across Israel, with amounts ranging from NIS 200 to NIS 1,400. The Israel Airports Authority leads the pack, offering its employees a NIS 1,400 bonus, while Assuta Medical Centers is at the lower end with NIS 200. Other high-ranking companies include Elta Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries, offering NIS 1,300.

The survey, conducted by "Vaadim" (Committees) company across over 1,200 workplaces, estimates the total value of these holiday gifts nationwide to exceed NIS 5.5 billion. The findings highlight a substantial gap, with some employees receiving over NIS 1,000 while others get as little as NIS 200.

Beyond monetary value, the form of the gift also varies. Approximately 30% of employees will receive a tangible gift, another 30% will get supermarket vouchers, and only 5% will receive the bonus directly into their bank accounts. Companies like Metropolin, Elbit Systems, and Cellcom offer bonuses of NIS 250 and NIS 300, respectively.

Public sector employees also see varied bonuses. Employees at Bank Yahav will receive NIS 1,250, while those in the Jerusalem Municipality will get NIS 1,200, and Tel Aviv Municipality employees will receive NIS 1,075. Israel Post and the Histadrut (General Organization of Labor in Israel) and Teachers' Union will provide NIS 1,000.

In the food and leisure sector, Zoglovec leads with NIS 1,100, followed by Zara Group (NIS 800), Osem (NIS 550), Gad Dairy, and the Israeli Opera (NIS 500). Technology firms also offer substantial bonuses, with SuperPlay and Genpact Israel employees receiving NIS 1,000, Playtika offering NIS 950, and Resonetics providing NIS 750. Other companies like Israel Railways offer NIS 840, Rafael and the Ministry of Defense NIS 750, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs NIS 700, and Sderot Municipality NIS 600.

Yakov Alush, CEO of Vaadim, stated that holiday bonuses reflect appreciation and strengthen employee belonging. He noted that despite the digital age, tangible gifts still hold significant value for many employees.
