Suspect Arrested After Months on the Run for Grenade Attack

Police announced Sunday the arrest of a 33-year-old man suspected of throwing a grenade at a business in Or Yehuda, an incident that injured five civilians in May. The suspect was part of a gang involved in multiple violent crimes and weapons offenses across the Gush Dan region. Significant investigative developments by the Tel Aviv District Serious and International Crimes Unit led to the arrest of the suspect and the indictment of three other gang members.

The suspect had been evading police since fleeing the scene of the grenade attack in May. Following further developments on Friday, authorities were able to apprehend him. He was brought before the Magistrate's Court on Sunday, where his remand was extended until Tuesday.

In a separate but related incident last month, a fragmentation grenade was thrown at a residential building in Holon, causing no injuries but damaging the property. Police are investigating the incident, which is believed to be criminal in nature.

Approximately a month prior to the Holon incident, police arrested crime boss Yossi Musli, an 18-year-old, and two men in their 30s in connection with a feud between crime families, specifically the Jarushi family. This ongoing conflict, involving reciprocal grenade attacks, is reportedly centered around the "Japnika" restaurant chain. The Tel Aviv District Court later approved an administrative arrest warrant for Musli, imposing restrictions including 45 days of house arrest in Savyon and a ban on using the internet for messaging applications.
