Smotrich Plans Knesset List Shake-up, Pushing Out Incumbents

Translated & summarized from i24NEWS by baba
The story · English

Bezalel Smotrich, chairman of the Religious Zionism party, is considering requesting additional reserved spots on the party's Knesset list, according to a report by Knesset correspondent Amiel Yarhi for i24NEWS. Smotrich also intends to utilize all five reserved spots he currently controls.

This move would significantly impact the party's current Knesset members. With the exception of Orit Struk and Simcha Rothman, no other incumbent MKs are expected to be placed in realistic positions on the list.

Furthermore, Smotrich plans to place Eitan Mor within the top five candidates. He is also reportedly seeking to include a public figure of Sephardic descent, a woman, and a reservist soldier in the party's upcoming slate.

The Religious Zionism party did not provide a comment on these reported plans.
