Yoaz Hendel Reacts to Political Split, Vows to Continue Leading Party

Yoaz Hendel, chairman of the "Zionist Reservists" party, has publicly addressed the recent dissolution of his political partnership with Chili Tropper. In a video statement, Hendel expressed personal and national pain over the split, emphasizing that while he respects Tropper's decision to join another bloc, their close friendship will endure.

Hendel revealed that he had declined offers that would have guaranteed him a seat in the Knesset, asserting his commitment to leading the "Zionist Reservists" party on what he believes is the correct path for Israel. He stressed that politics is a means to an end, with the ultimate goal being a "Zionist government" and preventing further elections.

The split occurred after Tropper reached an agreement with Gadi Eisenkot to join the "Yashar!" party, securing three spots on its list and leaving Hendel outside this framework. This development led to the breakup of the "Zionist Reservists" duo.

Hendel's decision to run independently presents a significant challenge, especially with polls indicating the party may struggle to pass the electoral threshold. However, he frames his continued independent run as essential for overcoming political deadlock and forming a stable, Zionist coalition after the current conflict.
