Haredi Leaders Focus on Family and Technology Amidst High Holidays

Haredi Rebbes are actively engaging with their communities as the High Holidays approach, addressing spiritual and practical concerns. The Rebbe of Zwohil, Chaim Rosenbaum, led a "Remember Us for Life" gathering focused on strengthening Jewish homes against the dangers of modern technology. He stressed the "great danger" and the "duty of the hour" to distance oneself from such threats, with congregants signing a special covenant to establish safeguards.

In parallel, the Vizhnitz community convened for the first Selichot prayers, with the Rebbe's son, Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, delivering a powerful address about his father's health struggles and the importance of spiritual connection. The Alexander Rebbe also visited the community of Emanuel to encourage his followers and inaugurate a new study hall, blessing residents for the New Year.

Other prominent Rebbes, including those from Pinsk Karlin and Kretschneif, led Selichot services in Jerusalem and Rehovot respectively. The Pinsk Karlin Rebbe concluded his service by reciting Psalms for the recovery of the Vizhnitz Rebbe. Meanwhile, Chabad emissaries are conducting widespread campaigns across Israel to check mezuzahs and prepare for the Shofar blowing on Rosh Hashanah, aiming to double the number of Jews who hear the shofar.

In a separate development, police arrested dozens of individuals in a Breslov community on suspicion of involvement in underage marriages, a sophisticated method of secret weddings. This operation follows a similar one two weeks prior. The Belz Rebbe will be praying on a specially elevated platform this year, a significant change in his prayer location for the upcoming High Holidays.
