Palestinian PM Outlines Five Priorities for Freedom and Independence
Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Mustafa announced five clear national priorities aimed at achieving freedom and independence for the Palestinian people. He emphasized that economic development is intrinsically linked to national development and the realization of these national goals.
The first priority is confronting the "occupation's aggressions and settlers' terrorism" in the West Bank, while providing support for residents to remain on their land. The second priority is ending the internal Palestinian division and restoring institutional unity between the West Bank and Gaza, managing a transitional phase wisely, and ultimately enabling the state to resume full responsibilities in Gaza.
The third priority focuses on improving the economic and financial situation, strengthening state and private sector capabilities, and achieving a breakthrough in the reconstruction of Gaza, moving from plans to actual implementation. The fourth priority involves continuing state-building and institutional governance by supporting judicial independence, enforcing the law, protecting public funds, and safeguarding freedoms. The fifth priority is to complete political and diplomatic efforts to end the occupation and achieve independence, referencing the "New York Declaration" supported by over 160 countries and the "International Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution."
Mustafa made these remarks during his speech at the opening of the Nablus Expo 2026, held under the patronage of President Mahmoud Abbas and organized by the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He conveyed President Abbas's greetings to the people of Nablus and expressed appreciation for the Chamber, the organizers, and all participating companies and sponsors. He thanked the businesses and merchants for their participation, products, services, and their confidence in the Palestinian market and the national economy's potential for growth.
