French Talent Elijah Odeh Joins Belgian Club Lommel, Not Maccabi Tel Aviv
Maccabi Tel Aviv's search for a winger has been dealt a blow as one of their reported targets, Elijah Odeh, has officially signed with a different club. The 19-year-old French winger, who was previously linked with the Israeli team, has been loaned to Belgian club Lommel.
While global media had suggested Maccabi Tel Aviv was "leading the chase" for Odeh, and Turkish club Erzurumspor also expressed interest, Lommel ultimately secured his signature. Odeh joins the Belgian side on loan from French club Troyes.
Odeh, a Nigerian player, joined Troyes in the summer of 2025 for €3 million from Sheriff Tiraspol. Last season, he made 14 appearances for Sheriff, scoring seven goals. At Troyes, he played 13 games, scoring one goal and providing one assist, helping the team achieve promotion to the top division, though he played less frequently towards the end of the season. He has not yet been registered in Troyes' squad for the current season.
