Maccabi Tel Aviv Misses Out on French Winger Elijah Odede
Maccabi Tel Aviv's search for a winger to bolster their attack has hit a snag as one of their reported targets, Elijah Odede, has signed with another club. The 19-year-old winger, who played for Troyes in France, has been loaned to Belgian club Lommel SK until the end of the season.
Despite global media reports suggesting Maccabi Tel Aviv was leading the chase for Odede, and Turkish club Erzurumspor also expressing interest, it was Lommel SK that secured his signature. Odede joined Troyes in the summer of 2025 from Sheriff Tiraspol for a fee of 3 million euros.
Last season, the young Nigerian made 14 appearances for Sheriff, scoring seven goals. For Troyes, he played 13 times, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Although he played less towards the end of the season, he helped his team gain promotion to the first division. He has not yet been registered in Troyes' squad for the current season.
