3-Year-Old Toddler Killed in Bartaa, Police Open Probe
A 3-year-old toddler was killed today (Wednesday) in the village of Bartaa, near Harish. He was brought by rescue forces to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead. Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the death.
Medical staff who were called to the scene said they were told that “the child was injured after falling down the stairs.” Yesterday, a 3-year-old girl died of her injuries at Rambam Hospital, after being critically hurt the day before in a car accident in Kiryat Ata. Rambam said that “after prolonged resuscitation efforts for the toddler, the hospital doctors were forced to pronounce her dead in the early hours of the morning. We share in the family’s grief.”
The report of the fatal crash reached Magen David Adom yesterday at around 7:00 p.m. A team that arrived at the scene performed resuscitation efforts on the 3-year-old girl, who was in critical condition with severe injuries to her body after being struck by a vehicle. Police officers who arrived at the scene detained the driver for questioning and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. The accident occurred in a building parking area, apparently after a resident of the place reversed and did not see the girl, who suddenly emerged from behind the car.
